Who is Sandie Hammerly
A native of Virginia, I have been a resident of Colorado for almost 30 years and a homeowner in Superior since December 30, 2002.
I have more than 40 years experience providing inclusive leadership as staff professional and board officer to local, national and international non-profit organizations, most recently as the executive director of the Ultimate Players Association (national governing body of the sport of ultimate frisbee now USA Ultimate) and Director of Finance at Community Table (Arvada Community Food Bank).
Retired in October 2022 – and my work is now focused on being a Trustee for the Town of Superior.
Six years, member of Town of Superior, Board of Trustees. 2016-2020, 2022 to current.
Organized an ad hoc group of Superior seniors (2023) to plan and implement Town of Superior programs and services to keep this fast-growing resident demographic active and engaged. Thanks to the outstanding efforts by Town staff, Superior now has a thriving series of senior activities primarily focused at the Superior Community Center.
I am proud to be a part of the ongoing crew of volunteers in support of JWILL Pink Village having sewn together hundreds, maybe thousands of pillows to be distributed to those newly diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s a labor of love having lost my mom to cancer when I was sixteen.
Four years – Superior Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Trails Advisory Committee (PROSTAC) (3 as vice chair).
Seven years – treasurer, vice president of the Summit at Rock Creek Homeowners Association.
I am a die-hard Broncos fan and season ticket holder (note the orange and blue campaign materials). Looking forward to another winning season…whenever it comes.
